Where did you grow up?
I was born in Sylva, North Carolina but moved to the shark attack capital of the world, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, when I was 7. New Smyrna is a quaint little beach town that’s got a great live music scene, great bars and great people. One of my favorite things to do there was drive up and down the beach with my friends.
What is your role at Thumbprint?
I am the Web Experience Manager. I have a small but mighty team. My role at Thumbprint is to help build and maintain our client’s company stores. I am constantly coming up with new features to help improve our client’s experience on our sites by automating as much as possible.
How long have you been with Thumbprint?
I have been with Thumbprint just over 3 years.
What is your favorite thing about working at Thumbprint?
The freedom to pursue other ways to solve problems, create solutions and build new applications for our clients. I also love the culture. Thumbprint is such a positive and constructive environment to work in.
What do you like about working in the brand logistics industry?
I like the fast moving, always evolving environment of the brand logistics industry. There is never a dull moment and everyday there are new and unique challenges to solve. It’s rewarding working in this industry because I am able to create tangible solutions and applications that help improve the quality of life for our clients.
What hobbies/interests do you have?
I enjoy continuing education classes. Being in the tech field, my work is evolving and changing every day, so I make sure I am up to date with any languages and best practices. I also lead a very active lifestyle. I enjoy lifting weights, HIIT training and running. It’s nice to have an hour a day to turn off my mind and relieve any stress I may have and push my body to its limits.
Favorite meal?
Anything with chocolate!
Favorite Film?
It’s got to be The Last of the Mohicans! It’s an epic period piece that’s got everything from action and adventure to a love story. It’s a timeless film with the best soundtrack ever. My favorite quote from the film is “You be strong, you survive…You stay alive, no matter what occurs! I will find you. No matter how long it takes, no matter how far, I will find you.”
Favorite Book?
My favorite book series is The Dresden Files.
Latest binge TV or movie series?
I actually just watched The Witcher! That show is great.
Favorite place you’ve ever traveled too?
My favorite place I’ve ever traveled to is Iceland. From the food to the countryside to the people, it was incredible. While I was there, I was able to see the Aurora Borealis and the volcanic thermal hot springs. It was the trip of a lifetime.
Fun fact about yourself?
I enjoy giving back and helping other people who stutter. I am the co-chair for the National Stuttering Association’s support group in Orlando and I’m very involved with helping UCF’s Communication Sciences and Disorders College. Learn more here!
