Thumbprint Brings Home the Gold at the 2022 PPAI Awards!

We are excited to share that Thumbprint is a winner of a coveted 2022 PPAI Gold Pyramid Award in the Marketing Programs – Self Promotion category! The multimedia “2021 Bring It” campaign captured the attention and imagination of the judges at PPAI, the worldwide association overseeing the promotional products industry.

Much like the Oscars (but without all the drama), the Gold Pyramid represents the highest achievement across specific categories. To win the honor, entrants in the Marketing Programs category must demonstrate exemplary execution of a campaign featuring extraordinary creativity, innovation, understanding of the target audience, and use of available resources.

“We are so thrilled to receive this recognition from PPAI,” said Thumbprint CXO, Brian Gill. “This marketing campaign was the very definition of a team effort. Ideas came from so many people, and we just kept building off this notion of getting everyone pumped up for 2021. It really demonstrates the power of asking ‘what if?’ and that’s what we try to do with our clients every day.”

We wanted our clients to know we were in their corner.

“2021 Bring it” was designed to illustrate the power of combining online and offline experiences in a very cohesive way. Gift boxes containing regulation weight boxing gloves were mailed to recipients in early January of 2021. The gloves, which offered a bold statement of intent regarding the new year, were custom printed with graphics and a QR code. The code linked to a boxing-themed augmented reality microgame that invited gift recipients to take “one last shot at 2020.”

The gift program was publicized via a two-week-long social campaign that included a “walkout” music playlist and inspirational movie list, which were created from suggestions submitted by the entire Thumbprint team.

The message clearly resonated with the judging panel, with one panelist remarking, “Love the merch and ‘kicking the crap out of 2020!’” Thumbprint was honored to receive a comprehensive awards package from PPAI and is excited to be featured in PPAI’s publications throughout this year.
